(The long awaited) AGM roundup
At the Enfield Supporters Society AGM (formerly the Enfield Supporters Trust) held on Wednesday
24 October, three new members were elected to the Society Board which doubles as the Club's Management
Committee. Joining the committee are Gordon Bentley, Frank Cartwright, and Keith Smith MBA.
They join Dave Bryant, Martin Cantrell, Pete Coath, Ciaran Glennon, Andy Hatvani,
Paul Millington, Paul Reed, Roger Reed, Scott Reed, Derek Robinson, Glyn Smith, and Keith
Wortley who were either elected or co-opted members of the existing committee.
The meeting received a reports on the Society's finances and work over the last 18 months and on
the search for a home in Enfield for the Town. It was reported that several options were under
active consideration and that some progress had been made - however until negotiations with the
other parties likely to be involved had been completed details could not be released.
The meeting also voted unanimously to change the name of the Society to the Enfield Town FC
Supporters Society Limited to avoid any confusion in future. The highlight of the evening was a
question and answer session with Jim Chandler covering a range of topics from playing staff
and his hopes for the season to the standard of pitches and referees in the Essex Senior
League. All in all it was a very successful and enjoyable evening.

Enfield Town 0 Stansted 3
Essex Senior League
Stansted took all three points in a bad tempered match, with Thomas converting
three penalties - the first in the opening minute - and frustrating an Enfield Town
side that did not adapt to the strong winds blowing about Goldsdown road tonight.
Danny Clarke was sent off for throwing the ball away towards the end, but it remains
to be seen what the referee's report will say about what he saw and heard afterwards.
Match report now posted.

Bowers United P Enfield Town P
Essex Senior League
After a 9.30am pitch inspection, today's game has been called off by
the referee due to an excessive amount of water on the pitch. Last night
the game was 60/40 in favour of going ahead, but conditions have
deteriorated and the referee considered the game would be little more than
a farce if it went ahead.

This evening's fixture at Hullbridge Sports has been postponed due to a
waterlogged pitch.

Enfield Town 4 Basildon United 0
Essex Senior League
Another Danny Clarke hat-trick sealed three points for Enfield
Town and earned the first league 'double' for the club. A worry for the
club will be the injury to Stuart Snowden, who was one of two
players stretchered off during the match. Hopefully, the injury to both
Snowden and to the Basildon defender who went off in the opening moments
of the match will not be as serious as they appeared at the time.

Enfield Town 2 Saffron Walden Town 2
League Cup
Apologies of course for the error on the homepage yesterday. It was a
case of confusing my Sawbridgeworth's and my Saffron's! In future, the
first person to correct me on an error on this page in person can claim a
free pint of their choice. Back to tonight, and Saffron Walden Town
snatched an unlikely draw tonight after being behind for most of the game.
Two goals in the closing ten minutes and a heart-stopping block on the
Enfield Town goal line almost assigned the hosts to second place in group
A of the League Cup and a surrender of home advantage in the quarter
finals.

ETFC Press release
What have Manchester United and Enfield Town got in common ? They both
support the National Kick Racism out of Football Campaign. Enfield Town FC
is pleased to support this national Campaign. The Campaign which was
started by the Commission for Racial Equality and the Professional
Footballers Association is sponsored by the Football Foundation and FA.
Enfield Town's support for the Kick Racism out of Football Campaign is
just one of the ways the club hopes to strengthen the bonds between the
club and the local community which it serves. Last month Enfield Town and
the Middlesex FA funded and organised a football fun-day at the Acorns
playscheme in Bush Hill Park.
On Saturday supporters at the 6-2 win over Saffron Walden Town received
the latest edition of the Campaign's magazine Kick it Out. Enfield Town
are also offering tickets to future home games as prizes in a competition
organised by Enfield Libraries as part of their History of Black
Footballers Exhibition. The Exhibition will be at Palmers Green and
Edmonton Libraries over the coming month.

obviously the pre-match comments worked wonders! match

Saffron Walden Town pre-match notes
Two losses in a week may have deflated the Enfield Town balloon ever so
slightly, but on Saturday afternoon at home to Saffron Walden Town, Jim
Chandler will be asking for nothing less than another 3 points and a
higher goals scored from chances created ratio. Even during the 0-2
reverse against Eton Manor in midweek, there were enough signs that once
the likes of Clarke and Riley rediscover their scoring touch, goalkeepers
will once more be phoning into work as sick the next day due to strenuous
'picking the ball out of the net' practice.

Saffron Walden Cup game put back a day
Next week's cup tie with Saffron Walden Town, originally due to take
place on Wednesday 17th October, has now been rescheduled for the
following night, Thursday 18th October due to an Essex League meeting on
the Wednesday night.

Enfield Town 0 Eton Manor 2

Enfield Town contrived to lose this game after dominating both
posession and chances created throughout the match. Danny Clarke was
denied on numerous occasions, and even when presented with a chance in
front of goal, Poole spooned the ball wide when it appeared easier to
miss score. details
