Sawbridgeworth Town 3 Enfield Town 6
Essex Senior League
Kevin Riley grabbed a first-half hat-trick for Enfield Town this afternoon against
lowly Sawbridgeworth Town before the skies opened on those assembled at Crofters End. The down
side to the game being the goals conceeded in the second half which gave our hosts hopes of a
point. Match report now posted.

Ronnie Watson injury update
Ronnie Watson is still in plaster after breaking a bone is his right foot against Leyton
last week and will remain so for another three weeks. Further x-rays will then determine the
state of the injury and how long his recovery time will be. Danny Alleyene is currently
suspended for 35 days following his involvement in an incident whilst with another club last
season.
Stuart Snowden may miss this weekend's game against Ilford after picking up an injury in the
midweek game against Sawbridgeworth. Gary Byrne has left the club and joined Saffron Walden Town. Gary made two
appearances for Enfield Town, twice coming on as a substitute in the League Cup matches at
Sawbridgeworth and Saffron Walden Town.

Fixtures added for October
The new batch of fixtures for the coming month are now available on the website. One interesting
stat is that, if calculations are correct, after the end of October there will only be 5 more away
league fixtures for Enfield Town this season...
19th September 2001
Enfield Town 2 Sawbridgeworth Town 2
League Cup
Enfield Town came from behind twice - the second after being reduced to 10 men - to
maintain their unbeaten run in league and cup games. Kevin Riley netted in the closing
moments after Jamie Morris had earlier scored from a penalty. Town were missing key
players for this match, so a good result and entertainment for the 158 crowd who attended.
Enfield Town break Goldsdown Road attendance record
Our crowd last week was the biggest in the Essex Senior League since 1976,
when Billericay played Brentwood on 12th May in front of 887. Jimmy Greaves
was in the Brentwood team and the programme mentions that he 'added 150 to
every gate around the league'. In that season, and 1976/77, Billericay
regularly got a gate of around the 500 mark. The best home gate in any
competition involving an Essex Senior League team was 3,250 for the Canvey
v. Tiverton FA Vase semi-final (don't know the year).
Our crowd of 516 broke Brimsdown's ground record. Info obtained from
'Centre Spot', vol 15, no.6 (The ESL weekly bulletin)

Barkingside 1 Enfield Town 4
Essex Senior League
Enfield Town continued their early-season winning streak with a comfortable win at Oakside
stadium this afternoon. On a rather suspect playing surface Town got into their stride early
with Danny Clarke latching on to a long clearance from the back to lob the 'keeper for the
opening goal after only 2 minutes more...

Enfield Town 3 Leyton 1
Essex Senior League
Football is back in the borough of Enfield and in some style too. Enfield Town overcame a
spirited Leyton side to win 3-1 against 10 men and a stand-in keeper, after Leyton's keeper was
dismissed in the second half. 516 attended the game, which is a massive financial shot in the
arm for Enfield Town and a big thumbs up for all who believed that getting a side back in Enfield
would bring back the fans. Top of the ESL as well, which cannot be too bad either.

8th September 2001
Southend Manor 2 Enfield Town 2
Essex Senior League
A well-earned come-from-behind point against another side in form at the moment.
Southend Manor took a two goals lead on the back of some hesitant Town defending,
but the second half was better for the visitors, with both Danny Clarke and John Ridout netting
towards the end. Match report posted.
Can you help?
Enfield Town play their first ever ESL fixture in the Borough of
Enfield this Wednesday. Tomorrow we are asking for a little help
behind the scenes from 10.00am, to assist Dave Farenden in getting ready for the
big night. Any help would be appreciated.
The Enfield Town Show - come along and get involved with your local club
Enfield Town play their first ever ESL fixture in the Borough of Enfield on Wednesday
(this has been confirmed after Leyton's result today) and you can get involved with the
club the following weekend at the Enfield Town Show, where already there are a host of ETFC

3rd September 2001
Eton Manor 1 Enfield Town 7
League Cup
Another fine away win for Enfield Town - this time in the League Cup. Much in the same manner as
last Saturday. Though Manor took the lead in the first few minutes, they contrived to miss
another penalty and then conceeded another that was converted by Stuart Snowdon for the Town. By that time the game
had reverted back to last Saturday's fare and Enfield Town added further goals either side of
the half time whistle, capped with a Manor sending off made it a very enjoyable journey back
to Enfield.
2nd September 2001
Barkingside fixture added
Enfield Town will be playing Barkingside away on 15th September 2001
Enfield Town shirts and tops now on sale
On Saturday, Dave and Gill Farenden were selling ETFC polo shirts around the
ground, and very nice they looked too. Replica ETFC shirts are now also on order at 30 pounds, but
you need to pay the money up front and the delivery of your shirt is expected to be
14 days. Hats and scarves are also on the way in for those cold winter nights.
Information on this coming up soon.
1st September 2001
Eton Manor 1 Enfield Town 4
Essex Senior League
Enfield Town went top of the Essex Senior League after an emphatic second half
performance at Wadham Lodge. Eton Manor had pegged the Town back to a goal each,
but a super individual goal by Jamie Morris and a Danny Clarke second half double
helped Town to the top of the table, with opponents competing in the FA Cup.
