Jimmy Greaves and Geoff Hurst were at the opening ceremony of The Stadium in 1970. Not too sure
what the strange mushroom-type thing is in the picture to the right, but it led to a suggestion that one side
of the ground should be named 'the mushroom end'.

One of the more interesting sights pointed out at the Bowers ground was the use of surrounding
trees with a hastily-attached light bulb. It may have been used for the players to train behind
the goal but surely not as an aid to the floodlights?

Excellent club bar that was open a full three hours before the game. Cover behind one
goal and a stand along the touchline. The rest of the ground is quite open to the elements.

A cold ground with precious cover, but home sweet home. Ground improvements
planned include enclosure of ground and cover on two sides of the ground for 250. |

Besides the main stand (pictured), there is cover behind one goal and terracing at the other
end. Excellent food and a friendly club. Behind the main stand is a bowling green.

Ilford FC don't have a social club, but before the drinkers have heart failure, ther
is at least the Cauliflower pub opposite the ground. Mid 19th Century and comfortable.
The ground
itself has a main stand and concrete terracing but little else. Food and hot refreshments from
portacabins nearby. Stadium info

This ground should be familiar to many of the older Enfield FC supporters. Enfield
played here in the Isthmian League against Leyton Wingate.

The bells from the nearby church ring out during games at Caton Lane. Neat social club and
wooden main stand. There's cover behind one goal and a little opposite the main stand too. A
ground worth visiting for its photo opportunities. Sadly, ETFC have had two evening games here.

Lovely main stand for a ground that used to have athletics facilities. Nowadays the gravel
running track is no more, having grown over. Good place to visit on a summers day, with the sea
front within walking distance. but for winter take your gloves! Small but adequate club bar.
Website Not quite as up to date on information
as could be. Still - plenty of info on all the club sides, and not just the first team either. |

described as:- 'The first time I watched Stansted FC, the ‘Grandstand’ entranced me, Hargrave Park seemed a very superior
sort of ground. The Grandstand looked like a Victorian Railway Platform with raised seats, changing rooms behind or
underneath, with a splendid view across the pitch to stately house on the other side.'

A new looking main stand with flat covered standing room opposite. The club bar
is situated near the entrance to the ground, behind the goal, down a narrow alley by the side
of the Spotted Dog pub. The other end of the ground has four rows of steps in the centre of
the goal. Muddy and cold, but a friendly enough club.
